A Little About Bertie Township
What’s in a name?
​
It wasn’t until 1970 that The Town of Fort Erie became known as such. Before then, there were name changes over a nearly 200 year history, such as Fort Erie Township, Bertie Township and Quaker Township.

Come out to our monthly meetings to learn a thing or two about the history of the Town of Fort Erie! The meetings are free to attend, and open to everybody! You can sign up to be a member at any of our monthly meetings. It's only $10 a year, and you get to support the local history society! Check out our upcoming events down below. We are in partnership with the Fort Erie Public Library.
